Congratulations To All Our Champions

In spite of the rain everyone enjoyed President's Day. A fun game of bowls with random jacks was followed by a delicious tea. Well over £100 was raised for our President, Mick McGing's Charity, Motor Neurone Disease.

WELL DONE to Dave, Robert, Mike and Colin on winning the Mayor's Trophy for Iford Bridge.  Well Done Fellas!

                       GillyFord Shield

Iford Bridge retained the GillyFord Shield when they beat Gillingham 56 -  25 on Sunday 29th July.
The match was only played over 12 ends due to the constant rain but nevertheless both teams enjoyed the match and the lovely tea that was provided afterwards. We look forward to visiting Gillingham next year to try to retain the Trophy.

                        TOP CLUB TROPHY

Iford Bridge went down 1-4 in the Top Club Trophy away to Moordown. Well done to Doris Mulcock for winning the Ladies Singles and hard luck to Margaret Crisp and Joe Spicer who lost narrowly 21-22 in a tense and thrilling  Pairs Match.

                      CHRISTCHURCH TIMES TROPHY

Saturday 21st April  Iford Bridge travelled to Highcliff to play the 1st Leg of this season's Christchurch Times Trophy. Iford came away with slender 111 to 103 lead to take into the 2nd Leg at Iford in September. It was a lovely afternoon and the game was played in a very friendly spirit. We are grateful to Highcliff for hosting the game and for their wonderful hospitality.

Well Done and Congratulations to Dot and Mike English on their wonderful efforts to raise £1345 to purchase a Defibrillator for our Club. The money was raised in a number of ways, donations ( and we thank those individuals and companies who have contributed ), raffles and even toy sales. A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to someone who is in cardiac arrest. We hope that we never have to use it but it's good to know it's there if the situation arises. So many thanks Dot and Mike for your efforts.

Congratulations to Alan Doughty for receiving an Award for Dedication to Sport in the Borough of Christchurch.
